Deepti Sharma of India has moved up in the ICC Women’s T20I standings after her impressive performances with the ball at 2026 Women’s T20 Asia Cup. By taking eight wickets in three matches, Deepti has moved up two spots to sixth position.
N Shree Charani of India holds the number one spot in T20I bowling following her impressive start to 2023. Charani has been one of the stars of the Asia Cup too, taking seven wickets in three games. With both spinners putting up good performances and being aided by Prema Rawat, India are the first team to qualify for the semi-final of the tournament.
Deepti was number one in the T20I bowling rankings in December last year. Since then though Shree Charani has taken the mantle of top wicket-taker in the format from her,
England’s Sophie Ecclestone, Charlie Dean and Lauren Bell and Nonkululeko Mlaba of South Africa sit in between Shree Charani and Deepti. The top bowlers, however, have a formidable lead over the rest of the pack with Charani leading with 613 rating points for her first place ranking and Deepti placing sixth at 543 rating points.
Also, Deepti Deeti has achieved another major achievement during the Asia Cup. Her brilliant three-wicket haul in the tournament opener against Thailand also propelled her past Thailand spinner Thipatcha Putthawong into first place as the leading wicket-taker in Women’s T20I history.
It was a dream start to the tournament for Deepti, who ended that match with figures of 3 for 0 in just 1.1 overs. For its part, Putthawong improved four places in the most recent ranking to 47th with five scalps from three games.
Pakistan spinner Nashra Sandhu showed it can be done when she delivered the best bowling performance of the tournament so far, taking 6 for 7 against Hong Kong on Monday. Sandhu was relegated a spot based on her performance and now finds herself in eighth position among women’s T20I bowlers, despite the remarkable spell.
Charlie Dean makes progress in ODI rankings
Her completion of the ODI series against Ireland has also come as an added benefactor for England all-rounder Charlie Dean. England cleared a sequence sweep and Dean held on the down one space to ninth in the women’s ODI all-rounder records.
Dean also gained ground in the ODI bowling rankings. O’Leary picked up three wickets throughout the series with an economy rate of 4.12 and jumped two spots to equal 11th among ODI bowlers.
Amy Hunter jumps to 11th among ODI batters
While the biggest movers in the latest ODI rankings was Ireland batter Amy Hunter. After a successful series against England, Hunter rose up from 20th to 11th among ODI batters.
Scored 165 runs in the series, the second highest run-scorer between both teams and from Ireland. Sophia Dunkley with 212 runs is the leading in the run charts for England and Maia Bouchier finished second with 188.
The updated rankings showcase the influence of an international season that has unfolded since the last official listings, especially Deepti Sharma’s effort as part of India’s Asia Cup most recently which helped her cement her status amongst T20I bowlers the world over.
